Our week in pictures

This weekend, we took our first trip to the park. Our timing was not great as it was close to naptime, so the result is many surly baby pictures. I imagine her inner voice bitterly saying, "Oh wee. Glad you all are having so much fun. Thanks so much guys."

I wasn't terrified by this at all.

"Whatever, guys."

In happier Charlotte events, Charlotte has mastered getting her walker off the hardwoods in the kitchen onto the carpet in the living room. Okay, so not really an event, but she's our only child and our world revolves around her every move.

And in other not-news. Charlotte had pizza last night and rubbed her wet hands all over her hair. Cooing and pictures ensued.

Long time, no post.

So, we don't have internet at our house, hence the hiatus from blog posting. Just an update on our holidays.

Christmas was wonderful and busy. Charlotte loved ripping the paper off her presents and got some really awesome toys, thanks to our generous families. We also discovered Charlotte's love of Santa Claus. She was obsessed with a Santa figurine we had up on our bookshelf and took every chance to crawl over and stare at it, smiling. So imagine her joy when she met Santa for the first time. Luckily it wasn't traumatic for her like some of the other kids' experience.

Just a little bit after Christmas, Charlotte started standing up on her own. A few times she's taken a couple of steps, the record being 3 unassisted steps. Her favorite things right now are feeding herself Cheerios, drinking from her sippy cup, walking on her tip toes, her blanky, and when her daddy comes home from work.

I'm returning to school for my last semester before I graduate (if all goes according to plan). I had a month off from school for Christmas break and I got extremely spoiled getting to spend so much time with my baby. The only downfall is that she got entirely too used to napping with me in the recliner, so Stephanie gets the fun task of getting her to nap in her crib again.

This picture looks nothing like Charlotte, but it makes me laugh.

I know, I'm one of "those" moms.

Four teeth so far!

Thanksgiving

I was lucky enough to have the week of Thanksgiving off, giving me lots of time to spend with Charlotte...resulting in many pictures.

This night before Thanksgiving, Charlotte and I went to stay at Grandma Lorri's after a shopping trip with Vada, Stephanie, and Grandma Lorri to buy Christmas dresses for the girls.
Charlotte really enjoyed riding the tractor, although hasn't mastered the graceful dismount yet. She would just fall sideways when she was done playing, fully expecting someone to catch her.

"Whoa!"

Grandma Lorri and Charlotte donning matching Pitt State attire.

This next slew of pictures is from Thanksgiving. Kristy's in-laws were kind enough to welcome us into their home to celebrate the holiday with the family. Charlotte had a blast playing with her cousins, aunts, uncles, dogs, cats, and horses.

This picture is an accurate depiction of how much drool our little girl has at any given moment.

The first attempt at getting a family picture with Charlotte looking at the camera.

The second attempt. Becky was standing behind the camera, holding a cat in the air, pretending to throw it. Charlotte's face is an appropriate cat-thrown-in-the-air expression.

Charlotte was more transfixed by the Viking on Derek's shirt than the horse.

Someone loves her Aunt Kristy...

Spoiler: Charlotte's Christmas dress. I HAD to try it on her!

Sunday morning donuts.

We love donuts!!

The end.

Pictures from the past week

Last Sunday was a really nice day outside, so I decided to take Charlotte out in the backyard for some much needed outdoor time. She spent most of the time trying to eat dead leaves. It was an eventful day.
Caught Charlotte mid-bounce.
Early morning at the Huser house.

.

This past weekend, Aaron's little brother, Kyle, was in the school musical. Since the Huser family reproduces at warp speed, there was the small issue of everyone getting to see the show while someone watched the babies. Aaron and I ended up watching Charlotte, Vada, and Maggie on Friday night. It wasn't nearly as terrifying as I'd imagined. All of the girls played very nicely together despite several, "Not the eyes!" and "Noooo, _______ was playing with that, you need to share!" and "We don't put our hands in other people's mouths." Aaron and I did our best to document the night in pictures, but with two of the little ones being mobile, it was near impossible.

Maggie loved having her picture taken.
Charlotte loves watching Maggie. She also loved being in her walker, enabling her to follow/run over poor Maggie.
Vada started to screech. Maggie and Charlotte both stared at her, then looked at us, then looked back at Vada in wonder.

Lastly, yesterday I found a pair of jeans I used to lovingly refer to as "denim sweatpants." Not too long ago, I was... heavier. Like, 50 pounds heavier. Happily, I can now fit my 18 pound baby in the front of my old jeans with room to spare. That feeling you will have looking at these pictures is pity for Charlotte.

Charlotte thought it was funny at first.
But quickly tired of being a kangaroo baby.
